Based on the television series by Joss Whedon comes the continuation of Buffy’s story after the ending of the TV show (season 7). This comic was provided by Dark Horse as a free download in honor of the 20th anniversary of the show.
The comic might be a little hard to follow if you aren’t up-to-date with how the television series ended. It has been at least a decade since the show concluded, but thanks to reruns and Netflix anyone can become familiar with how Buffy was buff and a master of slaying vampires.
Buffy is now part of a global cause of slayers trying to bring an end to vampires and monsters threatening mankind. In this comic you will see and read about familiar characters from the show, such as: Xander, Willow, Giles, and even Buffy’s little sister, Dawn (who is actually bigger than Buffy in this issue).
Just as the show was great with humor, there were some funny lines to be found in this issue. Buffy felt bad for using a crucifix to slay a monster inside a church. Her conversation with Dawn about boys was comical as well.
The Pros: The story was very interesting. Buffy is longing to go home, the military is after her, Willow is missing, and she still misses her mom.
The Cons: It was hard to find anything wrong with the story and artwork.
Jer gives it 5/5.
